How Do I Create Beachy Texture?

Beachy texture just seems to stay the trend. No matter what we are seeing on the runway or for the changing seasons, beachy hair is a staple. But how do we create this look?

Whether you have a bob or lots of layers, anyone can wear this look, it’s all a matter of the tools and products you use.

I like to prep the hair with Davines This Is A Blowdry Primer. This is going to create a foundation for the hair and prime the hair for the perfect blowout. It is a heat protectant and will create an anti humidity barrier while creating shine and reducing blowdry time.

Once the hair is dry, I choose my hot tool. For tighter, beachier texture, I use a 1” curling iron. The more times the hair wraps around the curling iron, the tighter the curl will be. We are seeing more texture that is looser and beachier these days- think Jillian Lansky of @theaugustdiaries . Here we see a big barrel curling iron (1 1/4- 1 1/2”) to just give a slight bend to the hair and keep the ends straight.

Regardless what tool you are using, you will want to create texture with product afterwards. I will use Davines This Is A Dry Texturizer and spray this through the ends of the hair while lifting the hair up to create volume. I will then use Davines This Is A Texturizing Dust and sprinkle this through the roots and ends to create more grit, seperation and volume.
