How To Make Styling Easier For the Week

If you’re like me, you know how exhausting the thought of doing your hair every day can be. Between trying to get your workouts in, get your kids ready for the day or if you’ve been up all night with the baby, the last thing you want to do is spend an hour getting ready in the morning. So here’s my secret to easy hair all week…..

Take one day where you spend a little more time prepping the hair and you will make your life so much easier the rest of the week!

When I prep mine and my client’s hair, I start by building structure in the hair. This creates a foundation that will last much longer than one day. When you start by blow drying volume into the roots with a mousse, you create a cushion that is going to hold for the week as opposed to waking up the next day with greasy, limp hair.

Start by using your Davines Volume Boosting Mousse in the roots and blow drying the hair in the opposite direction. Then, apply the Iles Finishing Serum section by section as you use a brush and blowdryer to smooth out the ends. This doesn’t have to be a fancy blowdry, but by using the nozzle of your blow dryer against the brush, in the direction the cuticle should lay, you eliminate frizz and allow for a style that doesn’t need styling after it’s dry. It’s important to take the time and apply the Finishing Serum in sections so the product doesn’t dry with airdied texture (if that’s what you’re going for, that’s great, but a different look we’ll touch on in a different post!). Once your hair is dry, you can rock this look for the day or take it a step further with your curling iron.

For the rest of the week, hit the hair with a little dry shampoo in the morning or after a work out (make sure to blow dry the sweat out of the roots first) and touch up a curl here and there if you slept funny, but otherwise, you’ve got a style that will last for a few more days!

Hot Tip: sleep with the hair in a braid or scrunchied top knot to avoid destroying your style while you sleep.
